The mission of the Jane Allen Recital Hall is to provide a free venue with excellent pianos for local piano teachers to host their studio recitals. The Steinway Piano Gallery is in the for-profit business of selling pianos. Your referrals and purchases provide the resources for us to offer this venue without charge.
Only professional piano instructors in our database may reserve the hall. If you would like to be added to our database, a brief questionnaire must be completed and approved. Each piano instructor on our list may reserve the hall for no more that two performances annually. Some exceptions may be made.
The recital hall can be reserved beginning on March 1 for the following calendar year. March 1, 2026 is the first day that you can schedule a recital during the calendar year of 2027. We offer a pre-booking opportunity for teachers who regularly refer clients to our business. Please check with our sales staff for details.
The starting time you reserve indicates arrival time, not recital start time. If your recital begins at 7:00pm, we suggest you book the hall for 6:30pm. This is especially important outside of regular store hours, and it prevents over-crowding in the store, restrooms, and parking lot.
We do not allow students, parents, or commercial enterprises to reserve the hall. Users of the hall may not charge admission or request donations at their event.
By using the Jane Allen Recital Hall, you agree to abide by these policies:
· No food or drinks may be distributed or brought into the recital hall. Water is provided.
· Please do not move the pianos. Our staff will do that for you.
· Please respect our occupancy limit of 100 guests.
· Please do not place anything (stickers, plants, trophies, bags) on the pianos except the sheet music that is being played.
· The hosting teacher must be the first to arrive and last to leave the facility.
· Teachers are responsible for informing their students and families of the guidelines.
· The side door on Metro Blvd. is for loading/unloading or disabled access only. We ask that all recital hall guests use the main entrance on Dorsett Road.
We reserve the right to refuse use of the hall.
